Did I mention that Reed started WALKING?! Yes, he is full force walking! His first real unassisted brave steps came on March 24th, 2012. We were celebrating my Dad's birthday at my parents house and he walked from the kitchen chair to me in a few solid steps. He'd been practicing by bravely taking a step or two and then happily falling into me, but this time he did more than 3 steps, then it was 4, and then it was all the way across the kitchen, backwards, and around curves, that little dare devil!! He'd been doing a lot of one step and happily fall into Mommy, but this was more and he hasn't stopped walking since that day, getting better with each minute. He is a busy busy boy these days, lots to discover!
I love the progression of the arms when they first start walking. They are all the way up in the air, then halfway, and then I imagine they will eventually make their way down.
When he was first started learning there wasn't much cuter than seeing the look on his face when he was about to give it a go. He'd look at me from the trashcan, bench, basket, couch (whatever his starting point may be) and give me this sly little smile. He'd try to contain his ridiculous excitement of the feat that was about to occur. He'd let go, opens his mouth with a smile, arms up in the air and waddle (while almost taking a spill 3 or 4 times) all the way to Mommy, where he'd fall into my lap and clap for celebration! Making a Mommy so very proud.
With walking comes lots of falling and bumps-that 75 percentile head of his just wouldn't let him stay upward for long. BUT, He's really getting it down now. ;)
Off we go!
Yay Reed! Walk on over to our house anytime to show Olivia your new moves!
