A tribute to two great Men

This year our family lost two great men, My Grandfather Papa Win, in March, and my Step-Grandfather Jim (Pap) just this week. They were both loving, caring, and wonderful people. I am so fortunate to have known and loved them both, especially in my adult years, but that doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye. I plan on sharing their love and happy memories with our son.

Happy 3rd Birthday Brayden!

Brayden John Kagle turned 3 this weekend, can't believe how fast time goes by. Here are some pictures from his fun Birthday party.

Kerry & Brayden set off a rocket in the backyard, we watched it soar over the trees and I guess it landed somewhere. Hope no one was hit! Brayden got special treatment from his buddies, they pushed him in his car, but a plane went by and they all stopped and looked up in amazement, so cute & innocent. Love it.

Brayden said to me later that day " I'm not 2 anymore?" It kind of made me sad, like he was going to miss it! Here's to turning 3!

Is this what happens when you turn 30??

Bryan's actual birthday was on Friday, after a long work week, we celebrated, just the two of us, by going to "Ziki", a new Japanese Steak House in Annapolis. It was delicious and Bryan was thoroughly embarrassed by the loud speaker over our table that repetitively sang "Happy Birthday". Nice touch "Ziki." Believe it or not, he didn't have one sip of alcohol that night, even though this picture assumes something else, that is just pure exhaustion.

Surprise Bryan!!

After months of planning and keeping it a secret, I pulled off Bryan's 30th Surprise Party!!! If you don't know about "Dorsefest", it's a tradition Bryan started years ago when he started his first "real" job. Each Dorsefest had a theme, " I got a job", "Still Workin", etc. They were always parties at his parents house that involved good food, good music, plenty to drink, and backyard fun. We haven't been able to hold a "Dorsefest" in the past couple of years, so I thought, " What would be better than to surprise him with his very own " Dorsefest" for turning 30? Together with his parents, my parents, and party planner Katie Demer's, we threw a great "Dorsefest 2010, 30 and Daddy to be" party! Bryan was very surprised and had no idea. He thought he was coming over for his birthday dinner at his parent's house. Everyone stood in the front yard wearing their official Dorsefest shirt and surprised him as he pulled in. Everyone had a great time, thanks to all that came and celebrated Bryan!! The party was complete with food, drinks, friends, and even "Minute To Win It" games which were hilarious! Here are a few pics of the party people. :-)

We had one busy weekend! Bryan and I went to Virgin Fest 2010 last Saturday. It was a super hot day, but we had a lot of fun. We saw a ton of bands and they were all really good. The baby really started kicking to Matt & Kim. Maybe they'll be his favorite. They're a lot of fun, they really only have one hit right now but I'm hoping they'll push out some more. Check them out. It was a long day for girl who is 6 months pregnant, but I sucked it up. We stayed the entire day, my feet were black when I got home and so was the tissue when I blew my nose-hoping this builds up the baby's immune system! Then on Sunday we spent the day at Kerry & Linsay's house celebrating Kerry's Birthday. I got in some much needed time with my nephews Brayden and Chase. Brayden and Bryan hung out in the backyard for a while together, Brayden always has something to say, I love it. Chase is all smiles right now and I'm smitten. I was lucky enough to change two diapers, but the smiles certainly made up for it. Below is Lena, of course, who apparently thinks my new belly is the perfect pillow. :-)
