The boys of Summer and other random stuff

Well hello again, I'm glad we're able to meet up.

This is a rather large post as I have lots to catch you up on.
We'll start with Chase Kagle's 1st Birthday. This sweet Nephew of mine turned 1 on July 11th. How is he already a whole year old? I'm really not sure. I recently had a thought, first birthday's aren't just for the kids, they're for the parents too. It's a party to say "Wow, thank goodness we survived the first year!" Congrats to Kerry & Linsay for surviving yet another year of baby torture, ahem....I mean endless love. ;-)

For the best part of a 1st birthday....

                                                       It's the cake!!!

Brayden and Chase scored a new swing set, Reed swinging for the first time.

My other sweet Nephew, Brayden. Swinging with his Mommy

Can't forget about Hunter, look at him living the life.

A beautiful drive back over the Bay Bridge. Check out that sunset. Endless Summer style.

On a totally different day and a few weeks before the above, we tried Sweet potatoes! They were an instant hit!! But the pattern now goes like this; try something once or twice, once he's had it a few times, he gags and coughs about it. He's so dramatic. You bring the spoon to his face and he literally starts coughing and sticking his tongue out. You'd think I was feeding him dirt! It's hilariously and adorably annoying. So far we've had Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, and Avocados.

                                                        Early morning photo

Oh right...we have a dog. She's so photogenic.

                                          I can be hilarious!

                                        Oh wait...here's my serious face.

Daddy's home! He's so into Bryan right now, as soon as he gets home from work, it's all smiles.

"Mom, have you seen this guy? He's so cool."

                                           A typical Friday night outing

                                            "Please stop taking pictures"

And when your walk goes to long, it ends like this...passed out!

                                                       Just cause
Gma & Gpa came over on Reed's 6 month birthday (June 30th) and brought over some special treats

                                          Too much love? Nah.

How sweet is this? They brought over some delicious goodies from the Cakery.

One day you'll enjoy them too Reed.

(Notice the special spit up on my shirt? I usually go to work with one of these awesome stains. If I'm lucky it dries up nicely on my way in.)

A few more shots of Reed "eating".

 "Yeah, I guess you're alright."

And thats my update. Come back for more soon!

Beach Bum

I'm attempting to catch up on blogging in between working full time, Reed's naps on the weekends, cleaning, laundry, and everything else that needs to be done.

Here's where I'll start...

Reed went to the beach for the first time on 4th of July weekend. It was a welcomed break from our hectic life. Bryan and I very much enjoyed our only priority being Reed. We decided to throw all nap/sleeping rules out the weekend and let Reed rule. That meant he co-slept on Friday night all night (first time ever) and even though he woke several times it was much easier and faster to get him back to sleep. For naps he either napped on us while we watched TV(something that is no longer a part of us) or in a stroller while we walked the boardwalk. We ate out twice while we were there and he was awesome both times.

We tried not to keep him on the beach too long as he is incredibly fair skinned and it was pretty hot and sunny. He didn't mind the sand all over him at all, we put his feet in the ocean and his eyes got wide.

It was a really great trip, I think the 3 of us really enjoyed catching up with each other. :-)

The beach in pictures....

"Did my parents really just let me sleep with them all night?"

I remember seeing a picture of a Dad holding his baby in a magazine and it just seemed so sweet and masculine at the same time. Now I get to experience that first hand and it's as moving as that photo was.

Reed woke up, so I'll be back to post about his 6 month mini birthday celebration, Chase's 1st birthday, sweet potatoes and more!

Before and After Text Messages

My text messages used to look something like this:

     -"Drinks at Big Fish?"

Now they look like this (I got this exact one today)

-"I think we need to try size 3 diapers on little man, he's pooped out of of his diaper twice today!".

Oh how things change and thank you Ms. Laura & Ms Patti for dealing with those too small diaper scenarios!

I am sooo begind on blogging, I have lots to blog about, so stay tuned....
