Bed head!

Ms. Laura sent me this pic a few weeks ago, I just came across it again and had to share it with you. She sent it to me and said "I think someone had a good nap! Serious bed head!!"

Love him. He even has marks on his face.

The little things

Reed plays hard these days. He is on the move ALL the time. There is just so much to discover! He requires big open places to walk his chubby legs around. No daisy was left unpicked.

This was Reed's first time in the car at the grocery store. They only had pink left, but it more than did the job. There are only a few of these spectacular carts at the store, so when you see it, you have to make a run for it. I spotted it as soon as we pulled in, and I told Bryan to hurry up and get it. We were ready to throw some punches if needed.....this is serious grocery store stuff.

Lena steps in and takes over for us when we get tired.

                                                             And that's all for now!

Mother's Day 2012

Here we are, already on my second Mother's Day! What a silly, energetic, happy, dramatic, Mommy needy, hungry, kissable toddler you have become! You continue to amaze me everyday. You are certainly keeping us on our toes and continuously delighting us with something new you've learned. I'm so proud to be your Mommy!

He's (been) a walking!!!

Did I mention that Reed started WALKING?! Yes, he is full force walking! His first real unassisted brave steps came on March 24th, 2012. We were celebrating my Dad's birthday at my parents house and he walked from the kitchen chair to me in a few solid steps. He'd been practicing by bravely taking a step or two and then happily falling into me, but this time he did more than 3 steps, then it was 4, and then it was all the way across the kitchen, backwards, and around curves, that little dare devil!! He'd been doing a lot of one step and happily fall into Mommy, but this was more and he hasn't stopped walking since that day, getting better with each minute. He is a busy busy boy these days, lots to discover!

I love the progression of the arms when they first start walking. They are all the way up in the air, then halfway, and then I imagine they will eventually make their way down.

When he was first started learning there wasn't much cuter than seeing the look on his face when he was about to give it a go. He'd look at me from the trashcan, bench, basket, couch (whatever his starting point may be) and give me this sly little smile. He'd try to contain his ridiculous excitement of the feat that was about to occur. He'd let go, opens his mouth with a smile, arms up in the air and waddle (while almost taking a spill 3 or 4 times) all the way to Mommy, where he'd fall into my lap and clap for celebration! Making a Mommy so very proud.

With walking comes lots of falling and bumps-that 75 percentile head of his just wouldn't let him stay upward for long. BUT, He's really getting it down now. ;)

Off we go!

Reed in action

Once again I have all sorts of videos and pictures inhabiting my phone. These are a mix of videos from the past couple of months. Things I don't want to lose and things I hope you enjoy. :-)

Reed using his walker one of the first times. (he's quite the fast pro now. ;))

One of our many rides home after I pick him up from daycare and our "conversations" we have.  Don't worry-my eyes are on the road!!
This was one of the very first times he started pushing and walking. :-)

And call me crazy, but does he say "damn" at the end of this?!?! Gasp!

My passenger seat-a sock monkey, a balloon, and glasses...

I guess this should say "Lena".

Chubs

This guy, well....this guy is just too cool.
"Mom, be cool".

P.S. Reed is saying "Ball, Dog, Tree, (more like Tr), these are all understood by the ears of a Mommy, while a passer by may not be able to make them out so well. And yesterday, well....I was dropping him off at daycare and he was looking at Ms. Laura's awesomely fun backyard and I said "Do you already want to go outside?" and I'm telling you, and Ms. Laura heard it to, he said "outside"!! It was pretty clear! I don't know if we will hear it again anytime soon, but I will take it! We've had "Mama's and Dada's" for months now but right now it's all about "Da, Dada, Dad, and Dadadadadada". ;)
